The RISE program—Realizing Individual Successes for Everyone—is a multifaceted initiative developed by the New Jersey Department of Health’s Division of HIV, STD, and TB Services (NJDOH-DHSTS) to expand access to HIV prevention and support services statewide. RISE provides confidential HIV counseling and testing, empowers individuals through Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and offers Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) to cover co-pays for prescriptions, medical appointments, and transportation. For those potentially exposed to HIV, non-occupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) is available on demand. Additionally, the program promotes safer sexual practices by distributing free condoms, lubricant, and other prevention products. Together, these components aim to reduce transmission, remove barriers to care, and help individuals take control of their sexual health and well-being.
